Pryce Jones Catalogue 1959

This image is the front page of Pryce Jones Limited Centenary Celebration Catalogue, Spring/Summer 1959. There are two drawings of postmen delivering parcels to homes.

Local artist and former Laura Ashley designer and historian Brian Jones popped in for some A3 poster prints, with a beautiful piece of history, a 1959 Pryce Jones Catalogue.

Preserving a Piece of Newtownโ€™s History

Brian generously allowed me to reproduce several pages from this valuable local historical artefact he possesses, which Iโ€™m excited to share with you.

A Legacy of Textile Innovation in Newtown

With centuries of textile and manufacturing heritage in Newtown, combined with the extensive local knowledge accumulated over generations by residents of Montgomeryshire and Powys, Brian exemplifies the legacy of the once-prominent local businesses.

These pioneers were instrumental in creating the worldโ€™s first mail-order catalogue and inventing the sleeping bag, among many other innovations.

๐Ÿ“ Is your computer in a bit of a jam? We can help with that.

We love seeing local businesses like Radnor Preserves set the bar so high. While youโ€™re enjoying their award-winning preserves, let us handle the ‘fiddly’ side of your tech, web, and print. Whether itโ€™s a finicky PC, a website idea, or a high-res print job that needs a professional finish, weโ€™ve got the tools and the “detail-obsessed” eye to get it right.

A Little Letter, A Little Magic

Here at Bluesdigital, we love doing things a little differently. This September, we started a small, whimsical project: reaching out to local businesses with an old-fashioned letter, delivered right through the door.

What makes these letters extra special? The stamps! We adore the unique stamp collections from Royal Mail, and weโ€™re sending each letter with a carefully chosen stamp. The very first batch, sent out on the 5th of September, featured the mythical creature stamps โ€” and they looked absolutely magical. If you were lucky enough to receive one, we hope it brightened your day just a little.

We wish we could include these beautiful stamps on every letter we send, but for now, only a handful of businesses are chosen at random.

If your letter didnโ€™t have the special stamp, donโ€™t worry โ€” thereโ€™s always next time! Or, if youโ€™re feeling cheeky, pop in to see us and maybe we can make an excuse for a fancy stampโ€ฆ perhaps on an invoice letter, ๐Ÿ’

Feeding Bellies Not Bins

Newtown Food Surplus logo and contact information for local food waste project.

Quick shout out to the fantastic volunteers & all the local companies that help to run Newtown Food Surplus, an amazing initiative focused on Feeding Bellies Not Bins. They could do with as much help as possible to continue helping so many people, so any time you can spare would be REALLY appreciated, or a few quid via DONATION would help to keep the lights (& Freezers) on. https://donorbox.org/newtown-food-surplus

Take a look at all the great work they do in & around the Newtown/Powys area.

This Oneโ€™s a Bit Different…

Todayโ€™s been one of those days โ€” where things just donโ€™t go to plan. A handful of jobs, each with their own unexpected challenges. Even with all the experience, care, and effort I bring to work, itโ€™s been a bit of a grind. It’s important to remember how days like these can impact our mental health.

At Bluesdigital, I take pride in delivering a high standard of service. That commitment doesnโ€™t change โ€” even when the day doesnโ€™t go my way. And while itโ€™s part of running a business, it can still be enormously frustrating.

Iโ€™m sharing this to acknowledge that these days happen. If todayโ€™s felt like a bit of a slog for you, this is a quiet nod to say: youโ€™re not alone. Maybe reaching out about a hard day for me can bring about a little ease for you. Just talking about mental health can sometimes lighten the load.

Thank you to my customers today, you are all super appreciated!
